RookiePit Privacy Policy

RookiePit ("the App") is developed by Eric Tsai ("we", "us"). RookiePit lets you scan a baseball card, basketball card, or Pokémon TCG card (via camera or your photo library) to identify it, look up publicly available player statistics (sports cards), and see a reference market price range. The App does not require account creation or login.
Information We Collect and How It's Used
- Card photos — When you scan a card, the photo is sent to our backend server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API for image recognition (to identify the player or Pokémon and card details). The identified name and details are then used to look up public statistics and listing prices. We do not store your scanned photos on our servers after processing.
- My Collection (stored only on your device) — If you tap the heart to save a scanned card, the App stores that card's result and a copy of its photo locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to our servers, is not linked to any account, and is removed when you delete the card in the App or delete the App itself. If you use "Watch Ad to Refresh" on a saved card, its stored photo is sent again for re-scanning, the same way as any new scan.
- Camera and Photo Library access — Used solely to let you take or choose a photo of a card to scan. The App does not access your camera or photo library for any other purpose, and does not browse your library — you choose exactly which photo to use.
- App preferences — Your chosen language, display currency, and app color are stored on your device only.
- No account, no personal profile — The App never asks for your name, email, or any personal profile information.
Advertising
RookiePit is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob: a banner ad on some screens, an occasional full-screen ad after scanning a few cards, and an optional rewarded video ad that you can choose to watch to refresh a saved card's data. If no rewarded ad is available, the refresh simply proceeds without one.
- To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob may collect your device's identifiers, general device information, and ad-interaction data.
- RookiePit does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites; the ads shown are non-personalized.

Third-Party Services
- Anthropic (Claude API) — Processes the card photo you scan to identify the card, and writes the short "Did You Know?" summary. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- MLB Stats API and ESPN — Public sports statistics sources we query (by player name only, no data about you) to show career and season stats for the player identified on your card.
- eBay — We query eBay's public listings (by card name and details only, no data about you) to show a reference price range, and you can open the matching eBay search results in your browser.
- Currency exchange rate provider — Our server fetches public exchange rates so the App can show prices in your chosen currency. No data about you is sent.
- Cloudflare — Hosts our backend server, including temporary daily request counters tied to your IP address that are used only to prevent abuse and expire automatically.
- Google AdMob — Serves the ads described above. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Data We Do Not Collect
RookiePit does not require an account, does not collect your name/email, does not use any analytics SDK, does not access your location or contacts, and does not sell your personal information. (See "Advertising" above for the one third-party SDK the App does use, and why.)
Reference Only, Not Financial or Investment Advice
Any statistics, highlights, rarity information, market price ranges, or AI-generated summaries shown in the App are compiled from public data and general knowledge for informational purposes only, and may be inaccurate. Price ranges reflect current active listings, not completed sales. RookiePit does not provide, and nothing in the App should be understood as, investment, collecting, or financial advice.
Your Choices
You can deny camera or photo library permission at any time in iOS Settings; the App will simply be unable to scan from that source. You can remove any saved card from My Collection, or delete the App to remove all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
RookiePit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

我剛入坑（RookiePit，以下稱「本 App」）由 Eric Tsai（以下稱「我們」）開發。本 App 讓你透過拍照或從相簿選擇照片來掃描棒球卡、籃球卡或寶可夢卡牌，辨識卡片內容、查詢公開的球員數據（運動卡），並顯示市場參考價格區間。本 App 不需要註冊帳號或登入。
我們蒐集的資訊與使用方式
- 卡片照片 — 當你掃描一張卡片時，照片會傳送至我們的後端伺服器，並轉送給 Anthropic 的 Claude API 進行影像辨識（辨識球員或寶可夢與卡片資訊）。辨識出的名稱與資訊會用來查詢公開統計數據與掛牌價格。我們不會在伺服器上保留你掃描的照片。
- 我的收藏（僅存在你的裝置上） — 如果你點愛心儲存一張掃描過的卡片，本 App 會把該卡片的辨識結果與一份照片副本儲存在你裝置的本機。這些資料不會上傳至我們的伺服器、不會連結到任何帳號，你在 App 內刪除該卡片或刪除本 App 時就會一併移除。若你對已儲存的卡片使用「看廣告更新資料」，該卡片儲存的照片會再次送出重新辨識，做法與一次新的掃描相同。
- 相機與相簿存取權限 — 僅用於讓你拍攝或選擇要掃描的卡片照片。本 App 不會為任何其他目的存取你的相機或相簿，也不會瀏覽你的相簿內容——你選擇哪一張照片，App 才會用到那一張。
- App 偏好設定 — 你選擇的語言、顯示幣別與主題色只會儲存在你的裝置上。
- 不需要帳號、不建立個人檔案 — 本 App 不會要求你提供姓名、電子郵件或任何個人檔案資訊。
廣告
本 App 免費使用，並由 Google AdMob 的廣告支持：部分畫面會有橫幅廣告、掃描數張卡片後偶爾出現全螢幕廣告，以及你可以自行選擇觀看、用來更新已儲存卡片資料的獎勵影片廣告。若當下沒有可播放的獎勵廣告，更新資料會直接進行，不需要看廣告。
第三方服務
- Anthropic（Claude API） — 處理你掃描的卡片照片以辨識卡片內容，並撰寫簡短的「你知道嗎？」摘要。詳見 Anthropic 隱私權政策。
- MLB Stats API 與 ESPN — 我們查詢的公開運動數據來源（僅以球員名稱查詢，不涉及任何你的個人資料），用以顯示卡片上球員的生涯與球季數據。
- eBay — 我們以卡片名稱與相關資訊查詢 eBay 的公開掛牌資料（不涉及任何你的個人資料）以顯示參考價格區間，你也可以在瀏覽器中開啟對應的 eBay 搜尋結果。
- 匯率資料服務 — 我們的伺服器會取得公開匯率，讓 App 以你選擇的幣別顯示價格。不會傳送任何關於你的資料。
- Cloudflare — 用於架設我們的後端伺服器，包含與你的 IP 位址綁定的暫時性每日請求次數計數，僅用於防止濫用，並會自動過期。
- Google AdMob — 提供上述的廣告服務。詳見 Google 隱私權政策。
我們不會蒐集的資訊
本 App 不需要註冊帳號，不會蒐集你的姓名／電子郵件，未使用任何分析（analytics）SDK，不會存取你的定位或聯絡人資訊，我們也不會出售你的個人資訊。（本 App 唯一使用的第三方 SDK 是廣告用途，詳見上方「廣告」段落。）
僅供參考，非財務或投資建議
App 內顯示的任何統計數據、獲獎紀錄、稀有度資訊、市場價格區間或 AI 生成摘要，皆彙整自公開資料與一般知識，僅供資訊參考之用，可能有誤差。價格區間反映的是目前的掛牌價，不是成交價。本 App 不提供、App 內任何內容也不應被理解為投資、收藏或財務建議。
你的選擇
你可以隨時在 iOS 設定中關閉相機或相簿權限，本 App 屆時將無法從該來源掃描。你可以隨時從「我的收藏」移除任何已儲存的卡片，或刪除本 App 以移除所有本機儲存的資料。
兒童隱私權
本 App 並非針對 13 歲以下兒童設計，我們不會在知情的情況下蒐集兒童的個人資訊。
政策異動
本政策可能隨 App 功能異動而更新。你在政策更新後繼續使用本 App，即表示同意更新後的內容。
